Why did I choose Psychology?

Hello classmates, today I'm going to tell you about my reasons to choose Psychology as my future job.

When I was a child, I never thought about what I wanted to study, I just thought that I wished to be a princess of the fairy tales that I knew. I liked animals (and in the present too) so I think that I could have wanted to be a veterinarian, but I'm not sure.
Since I was on the 7th grade of secondary school until the 2nd grade of high school, I wanted to be an English teacher, but the things changed when I realised that I wasn't very patient to teach. Then, inspired in the vocation of my mom (she's a midwife) I decided to study medicine, and then I wanted to specialize in kids, pediatrics.
But the things changed again... when I was in the last year of school I realised that I didn't like the sciencie. I mean, the biology, the laboratories, etc. So I decided to choose a career that involves the vocation to help people (relation with health), but involves a humanist character too. And then there was the Psychology.
When I applied to the University, I considered just Psychology (on different educational institutions) and a career related to music, because it's another thing that I love to do. But in the end, I was selected in what I wanted, the career and the University, so my family was very happy and, of course, me too.
My experience in the University has been good, because I like the career, the teachers, the classmates, the building... Everything!! Except some subjects of the first semester, because of their too "introductory" character.
In the future, I would like to work in a helper asociation, like Coaniquem. I want to help people to get over that bad experiences of their lives, and then, they could help another people too.

Welcome to my autobiography!!

Hello everyone :) as you know my name is María José, and I'm going to tell you some things about my life.

I was born in Rancagua and my birthday is on the 8th of January of 1998, so I'm 18 years old. I have lived all my life in Requínoa, a little town near to Rancagua.
When I was 3 years old, I went to a kinder garden called "Divino Corazón". After a year, I started my student's life in the Liceo San José of Requínoa (in the school year of pre-kinder), and I continued in this school still the last school year, the fourth year of High School. Then I was selected in the University of Chile and I started to study Psychology, in the present year.

The members of my family are my parents, my grandparents, my little brother and my pets (3 cats and a dog). My parents are divorced so I live with my mom, my brother and my grandparents (and my pets, of course). We all have lived in Requínoa and in the same house for all our lives.

I like music so much, as the languages and the animals. My entire family are musicians so I can play the guitar and the violin very well since I was a little girl, and I like to sing too. When I'm bored (and when I'm alone) I like to watch karaoke videos in Youtube, so I can sing different type of songs that I like.

Now I'm lived in Santiago because of the University, but when I'm in my house in Requínoa I like to play with my dog and strike my cats (they love that!!).

My cats Tommy (in front) and Manchitas (el Chispa)

Ejercicio

Hello! How are you? My name is María José Guajardo (but you can call me Cote) and I'm in my first year of Psychology. I have to say that I like english very much since I was a little girl, in fact, I wanted to study English at first, but the things changed, as you see. I like the lenguages in general, because for me it's very interesting to have so many different "ways" to comunicate with each other, in each part of the world. I think I like the English because was the first that I learned.
I listen to music in English everyday, and I always watch movies dubbed in Spanish, so I don't watch movies in English often, but when I go to the cinema, for example, I prefer watch them in English, with subtitles.
I think the most difficult of English is the speaking, because the pronunciation always fails for me. To surpass that difficult I think that my solution is the practice. So much practice.

That's all!
